Trams
There are many trams running
frequently through Laxey. As well as part of the main route from
Ramsey to Douglas, Laxey is also the base for the Snaefell Mountain
Railway, taking passengers to the summit of the Island's highest
Mountain.

largest pleasure cruiser, the classic motor vessel Karina. Built
in 1946 for ferry and excursion work in and around Plymouth, the

The Karina was built to a
traditional design dating back to the 1880's and is maintained in
the Edwardian style that she was built. The Karina can carry up
to 100 passengers and is equipped with open and covered accomodation,
buffet, toilet and a full commentary is provided on every sailing.
The Karina is registered as

Vintage Travel
From Laxey you can travel on the
Electric Railway to Douglas or Ramsey. The trams stop at some of the Manx
Glens along the route, which makes for a lovely day out.
On a clear day from the top of Snaefell
mountain you can see Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales, so this trip
is well worth it.
In Douglas there are also the horse
trams along the prom, and the Steam Railway, which travels to the south
of the Island.
